High performance solar thermal and solar photovoltaic products, combined with live energy performance monitoring and reporting capabilities, helps Glenbarra Energy customers realize their energy savings while reducing their energy consumption.

Our solutions include large-scale solar water heating, solar photovoltaic, solar cooling and heating for commercial and industrial markets.

Glenbarra Energy’s Experience and Qualifications

Glenbarra Energy located in Mississauga, Ontario provides solar design and installation services throughout Ontario.  Glenbarra Energy is a member of, and adheres to the ethics of, the Canadian Green Building Council (CaGBC), Canadian Solar Industries Association (CanSIA) and the Toronto Construction Association.  Principle members of Glenbarra Energy are LEED®AP Certified.  Glenbarra Energy is approved by NRcan for commissioning solar installations for application of grants.

We have the extensive experience and practical skills to ensure that solar installations can be adopted efficiently across a wide range of building structure types including commercial and municipal buildings, apartment complexes and residential homes.  Our expertise is especially strong in the area of retrofit installations.  This experience enables us to evaluate implementation barriers and offer viable solutions.  We are able to complete most of the construction requirements for projects with our own labour force, however, where systems require, Glenbarra partners with licenced mechanical/electrical trades who are active in the building services industry to assist with the installation, trouble shooting and maintenance the system.

Glenbarra Energy also works in conjunction with experienced structural, mechanical and civil engineers to ensure that all system design and construction specifications meet or exceed local codes and regulations and that the completed project will provide lasting and trouble free operation.

Glenbarra is an Energy Star® and R-2000 certified Builder and is registered with the Tarion Warranty Corporation.  Glenbarra was selected by Natural Resources Canada and the Canadian Home Builders’ Association to construct an EnviroHome, “A home that’s better for you and the environment”.  In 2003 the Glenbarra Group’s house building division was presented with the EnviroHome Award from the Canadian Home Builders’ Association and CMHC’s Healthy Home Award for “Dedication to Making Homes Healthier for Canadians”.  

Glenbarra Energy has gained valuable experience from its active involvement in the detailed design and development phase of each Project that we undertake.  We are able to assess the best application of available technologies such as Solar Thermal and Photovoltaic by evaluating a proposed location against set criteria and are therefore able to recommend a financially viable solution.  A key skill we offer is an in-depth knowledge of solar modules, racking and roof and wall mounted system installations based on real project experience.

Glenbarra manages its project construction through its in-house project managers and project design coordinator with supervision at the job site provided by the construction managers.  We take a customer focused approach to completing our projects, ensuring that there is successful scheduling, budgeting, site safety, availability of materials logistics, and minimal inconvenience to the Clients caused while the project is ongoing.
